Mason Jennings is playing and signing his new album at Electric Fetus on February 4, 2022, in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Another Minnesotan musician! Well, born in Hawaii, then moved to Pittsburgh ... but to grow up in Minnesota. Mason Jennings's musical career started and blossomed in the Twin Cities. After being rejected many times, a musician who began and found his sound in Minneapolis. From a challenging beginning to being awarded a start at our local hall of fame, yes, the First Avenue's wall of fame. Mason Jennings caught my attention; his work is excellent. He also seems candid and passionate when he chats about his work and career.

Why am I writing about this artist tonight? Well, there is this record and vinyls shop called Electric Fetus located barely a few blocks south from downtown Minneapolis. Their venue hosts several artists, performances, and even radio shows throughout the year. I recently learned they organize shows to promote local artists, so when they release a new album, you can get a concert ticket for the release party at Electric Fetus. A dream come true for those who follow the tiny desk series of the National Public Radio. I happened to acquire my vinyl player just a few months ago. So get your vinyl (or CD) and get a free ticket for his next show this February 4, 2022, at the electric fetus record store.

His style is a folk-pop songwriter. Tales of rustic character and chill vibes. His style paints landscapes with weather and deepness, smell and colors. So many of his listeners are proud to bring his record to the wilderness of camping and listening these Minnesotan ballads. I personally like this song a lot (above). It's called Darkness between fireflies.

I was driving faster through the appalachians

I could see the world go out below me in the sun

You should know by now

That someone's always been there

Long before you

You're never going to be the only one

I want to also hear about his career. He often talks about playing in all these small venues and coffee shops from the old times of his small gigs with nostalgia and some sense of humor. He has been on the music stage for a long time, and those stories are like listening to a good tale next to a bonfire. I'm looking for that. So, save the date—February 4, 2022, at Electric Fetus. Buy your record/cd and get a free ticket at this release concert for the new album.
